Reflection 1: Each new step takes us to a different place

In life, each new step we take leads us to new experiences. Each time we walk, we learn and each time we learn, we grow as individuals. Therefore, the person I am today is very different to the one who was there before this little step was taken.

Every time we, as individuals and as society, embark on an intellectual journey we reach to a new destination that feeds our soul and that makes us better human beings. The path to knowledge is not an easy one; however, many are the roads that can take us there; all we need is to be ready and take the chances for the rewards will be with us for the rest of our lives.

In life, each new step we take leads us to new experiences and these experiences are what life is made of. So let´s embark on new journey, on a journey for knowledge!

  1. hello hector,

Oh my God! Your place looks like paradise.
I wish you and your beautiful daughter all the best.
I completely share your point when you say"In life, each new step we take leads us to new experiences and these experiences are what life is made of. So let's embark on new journey for knowledge!"
I also view life as an everlasting learning process as long as we draw good lessons of our experiences and move forward.
The theoretician of social interaction conceptualizes your view in a three step analysis.
The first step comes with the concept of OBJECTS REGULATION. A kind of social input, the way facts appear to individuals primarily.
The second one is known as OTHERS REGULATION, social views behind facts, the ways family, school, society in general explain apparent facts.
The third one is named SELF REGULATION that means every single individual constructing his views of facts, marked by his own experiences and level of commitment and understanding as facts occur in his life.
The lifetime teaching and learning process considered by social interaction principles through OBJECT REGULATION, OTHER REGULATION and SELF REGULATION also embodies what is called the ZONE OF PROXIMAL DEVELOPMENT.Individuals minds are in a perpetual state of maturing facts of knowledge. This area of transition between what we know and what we are looking to acquire can be situated in our actual online course.
We came with views of web search engines=OBJECT REGULATION
we received instructions, shared findings and recommendations = OTHER REGULATION and then each participant will build his own and unique view of search engine tips or knowledge depending on his level of commitment and understanding=SELF REGULATION.
The SELF REGULATION stage is not an ultimate state of learning and is meant to constitute future OBJECT REGULATION to new learning.

To finish I think we did nice work in web search in that we helped each other and complement our efforts. Like Courtney mentioned we need to have a critical view of what is being offered and not take everything for granted.

Sorry for being that long I enjoyed sharing my view with you.

    Best regards,
    Mariam

    2. Thank you, Miriam! It is very interesting all you mention here. It is curious to see how a single idea or phrase can spark ideas, conversations, and concepts.

I take this phrase of yours "The lifetime teaching and learning process considered by social interaction principles through OBJECT REGULATION, OTHER REGULATION and SELF REGULATION also embodies what is called the ZONE OF PROXIMAL DEVELOPMENT"
because it exposes a new point of view for me. It tells me, in a way, that the human mind is always learning and that the mind will find its ways to acquire knowdlege.

Again, thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your knowledge and perspective of life with me.

      Regards from paradise!
